When it comes to malignment mesothelioma, the consequences can be staggering. When someone is diagnosed with malignment mesothelioma, they may have to deal with physical complications in addition to stress and financial issues due to health care. Moreover, the toll of malignment mesothelioma can be devastating for an entire family. Sadly, malignment mesothelioma has resulted in the loss of many lives, and it is impossible to know just how many people have passed away as a result of this disease.

Statistics from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shed some light on the number of lives that have been claimed due to malignment mesothelioma. Between 1999 and 2015, more than 45,000 death certificates listed malignment mesothelioma as the cause of death among those over the age of 25. Many of those who passed away were exposed to asbestos due to their occupation or their environment, and a lot of those who passed away lost their lives roughly one year after they were diagnosed.

However, it is very likely that many more people passed away due to malignment mesothelioma, and these figures do not account for all of the lives that have been lost since 2015. Even though the number of deaths attributed to malignment mesothelioma is expected to decrease in the coming years, it can take over 70 years for someone to be diagnosed with malignment mesothelioma following asbestos exposure. Sadly, asbestos-related diseases remain a serious problem for many families and those who are struggling with the consequences of this disease may be facing a great deal of uncertainty.
